Angelique Zeghers
ABA Tutor
Hello! I’m Angelique, also known as Angie or Ang. My home place is Johannesburg, South Africa where I grew up and had a beautiful, sunny and busy childhood. As a child and into my early twenties, I was a competitive show jumper, having been taught by my childhood role-model and world famous equestrian Anneli Drummond-Hay, a female rider who holds the world record for the highest jump ever jumped at 2,36 metres high.
I completed my Undergraduate Degree in Psychology and Criminology before completing my Bachelor of Social Science Honours in Psychology Degree. I then furthered my studies by completing a course to become a Specialist Wellness Counsellor with specialisation in Play-Based intervention. While studying and completing my practical hours I worked part time as an art therapist for a young boy with autism and apraxia, as well as working as an au pair in the afternoons. I also worked as a receptionist at a beauty salon in 2017 in my gap year, which gave me invaluable experience in the working industry.
After completing my practical hours, I was approached by an ABA clinic in South Africa and worked with eleven amazing children in the school, home and clinical setting. This profoundly shaped my understanding of ABA therapy and its transformative power. Through these interactions, I witnessed the unique ways these children communicate and connect, which ignited a deep passion within me for supporting their growth. Each breakthrough, regardless of how small, reinforced my commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where every child can thrive. This has solidified my dedication to continuous learning, particularly in ABA and emerging interventions.
I am a creative and musical person with a deep passion for artistic expression. I particularly enjoy needle felting and coming up with new creations. As well as finding joy in singing and playing ukulele. These interests allow me to connect with others by fostering a sense of community and joy through music and art.
