Speech & Language Therapist
Hey there! I’m Aphurva, born in the lush state of Kerala, but proudly raised and now settled in Bangalore (yep, a true Bangalore Mallu where filter coffee flows like water and the IT crowd is always buzzing!). From the very start, I’ve been passionate about working with children, and that love has only grown stronger over the years.
I started my journey with a Bachelor’s in Speech and Hearing from Bangalore University and later pursued a Master’s degree in Autism Spectrum Disorders from Queen’s University Belfast. It was in my second year of undergrad that I realized my true calling: working with children. I began running sessions that combined different techniques and approaches, and the joy of seeing children thrive in their development was nothing short of magical. From that moment, I knew this was the career path I was meant to follow.
I moved to the UK to continue my education, and that’s when I began working part-time at a daycare. What started as a small role turned into a bigger journey, and soon I was promoted to Deputy Manager and Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCO). In this role, I had the incredible opportunity to work with children aged 6 months to 5 years, watching them grow, learn, and hit new milestones was truly the highlight of my day.
Back home, I still keep in touch with some of my wonderful kiddos from India, and on weekends, I do online sessions with them. It keeps me connected to my roots while also letting me continue to support children from across the globe.
When I’m not working with kids, I’m a bit of a movie buff (I never miss a good film), love hanging out with friends, and have an insatiable wanderlust! Whether it’s a weekend getaway or planning my next big adventure, I’m always looking for new places to explore.
