Aubrey Conceicao
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Hello, I’m Aubrey and I grew up in Temecula, California. This beautiful city is located an hour north of San Diego! With the city being very conveniently located, I would frequently visit the scenic beaches of sunny Southern California. Temecula is also known for its Vineyards and wine tasting! This makes for a fun weekend of listening to good music, good food, and a little grape juice.
Growing up I was also actively involved in sports. This led to me pursuing my further education at Montana State University- Billings where I played college softball for 4 years. What is softball you might ask? It’s an American sport that is similar to rounders (or so I am told).
During this time, I discovered my passion for working with children through obtaining my Bachelor’s degree in psychology. In 2015 I began working as a Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) in a 1:1 setting with young children with Autism. After my first session, I remember thinking, ‘what an amazing job where I get to go to work and PLAY every single day’. This encouraged me to pursue my masters degree from Florida Institute of Technology in Professional Applied Behaviour Analysis. After which, I was able to sit for my Board exam to become a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) in 2018.
I began my ABA career working for a company who specialised in early intervention services in both the home and clinic settings. It was so much fun getting to work with families and their little ones and seeing them make so much progress. After being with this company for almost 7 years, I continued my journey at an Autism inclusion preschool in which I was able to work with kiddies in a social group setting. I cannot express how much joy it brought me to work with these little ones and their families! Then, with a little sense of adventure and an amazing opportunity, I found myself flying across the world to embark on a new journey in London, England at The Children’s Place.
I am always up to try a new experience. One of the coolest things I’ve done recently was getting to fly a plane! It was terrifying and exhilarating all at the same time. I would also love to swim with great white sharks one day! I am hoping to experience all of the amazing things that London has to offer, including going to see some professional football matches! The team I am going to support is still to be determined 🙂
