Michelle McLeod
Master Puzzler & Numbers Ninja
Hello! I am Michelle Martinique McLeod and I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. Having lived in various cities, including Durban and Cape Town, I cultivated a deep appreciation for the beauty and diversity of my country. My love for travel and exploration drives me to continuously seek new cultural experiences around the world, enriching both my personal and professional life.
After completing high school, I made the bold decision to forgo traditional academic paths and instead explore Europe, where I worked in the restaurant and banqueting industries. This experience, I believe, is invaluable, as it taught me the art of communication and interaction with people from all walks of life.
My career journey took me to the heart of the prestigious Diamond District in New York City, where I began working for a luxury bridal and jewellery brand. I later transitioned to managing a Gucci retail store, where I gained some invaluable skills in luxury retail management. After returning to Cape Town, I shifted my focus to the Film & Stills industry, where I discovered my true passion for coordination. As a Production coordinator, I truly enjoyed assisting in various aspects of production, and ensuring that all components came together seamlessly.
When the COVID-19 pandemic altered the global landscape, I pivoted once again, leveraging my diverse skill set to become a Virtual Assistant. This shift allowed me the flexibility to work remotely while continuing to travel and explore new opportunities.
At The Children’s Place, I am the Master Puzzler and Numbers Ninja – I schedule the sessions for all little ones and schools, mainly for our Speech and Language and Occupational Therapists. I also lead on invoicing. I thoroughly enjoy a collaborative and supportive team environment and I take great pride in my work and value the importance of forming meaningful relationships with colleagues and clients alike!
